The “Managing CFRA Leave Requests at Your Small Business” will run on Thursday, June 16 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., and Friday, June 17 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
On the first day of the webinar, attendees will focus on learning about CFRA and understanding its requirements, including such topics as:
- Employee eligibility for CFRA leave;
- Qualifying reasons for CFRA leave;
- Amount of leave available under CFRA;
- Notice and documentation requirements;
- Pay and benefits while on CFRA leave; and
- Best practices.
On the second day, attendees will take what they learned on the first day and put it into practice using real-life scenarios. Attendees also will learn about CFRA-related paperwork and documentation, as well as how to properly track the leave time.
Topics include:
- Required notices, medical certification and return to work release;
- Designation of leave;
- Tracking leave, including intermittent leave;
- Notice and documentation requirements;
- Interplay between Pregnancy Disability Leave and baby bonding leave under the CFRA; and
- Scenarios such as employee leave for their own serious health condition, leave for a family member and leave for baby bonding.
