Webinar to Explain California’s New Workplace Violence Standards

A CalChamber webinar on November 2 will discuss what employers should know about California’s new workplace violence standard.

This year, California passed SB 553 (Cortese; D-San Jose), establishing a workplace violence standard that will apply to all non-healthcare sector employers. The law has a significant list of requirements that employers must review and address before many of its provisions take effect in 2024.

To help employers prepare for these new requirements, CalChamber’s “California’s New Workplace Violence Standards” live webinar will explain the new law and break down how to:

  • Create a written workplace violence prevention plan;
  • Train employees to identify and report workplace violence hazards;
  • Log workplace violence incidents;
  • File workplace violence restraining orders; and
  • Maintain records of compliance with SB 553.
