California Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jennifer Barrera today issued the following statement on the tragic death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe:
“On behalf of all of us at the California Chamber of Commerce, I send heartfelt condolences to the family of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and to the people of Japan.
“Japan is an important ally and friend of California. Please know that Prime Minister Abe’s legacy of international leadership and friendship will be honored and long remembered in our state and nation.
“Prime Minister Abe is credited with single-handedly saving the Trans-Pacific Partnership, now the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership—so important to our Pacific Rim Region. Prime Minister Abe was a great friend of the U.S., who elevated our bilateral relationship and strengthened business and economic ties between our two countries.”
