CalChamber Applauds Governor’s Action on Energy; Threats to Supply Created by High Temperatures and Wildfires Addressed Through Emergency Proclamation

The California Chamber of Commerce today welcomed news that Governor Gavin Newsom has issued an emergency proclamation that will result in greater reliability of energy for Californians during peak use times, stating:

“Heat waves, drought and wildfires are straining our grid – oftentimes beyond capacity. Today’s action by Governor Newsom will go a long way in ensuring Californians have energy reliability on the hottest days of summer and during wildfire season. The incentives put in place through today’s emergency proclamation will allow large energy users to become part of the solution to short-term energy challenges. We applaud Governor Newsom for his critical leadership on this issue.”
