Small Business — Driving California’s Growth

Small BusinessAt the California Chamber of Commerce, we recognize that small businesses are more than just the backbone of the California economy—they are its heartbeat. In our vibrant state, small businesses not only fuel economic growth, but also foster community spirit and innovation. They embody the entrepreneurial spirit, creating jobs, driving innovation, and ensuring our communities remain vibrant and diverse.

Small businesses are an economic force in California. Our state is home to more than 4 million small businesses, which make up 99.8% of all businesses in the state. These small businesses employ around 7.5 million people, which constitutes just under half of all employees in California.

At CalChamber, we understand the critical role small businesses play in our state and the nation. That’s why we’re committed to advocating for policies that create a healthy business environment, fostering growth and opportunity for these essential contributors.
