Agriculture Tech in South Africa (Virtual)

In partnership with California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, Zurcom International (an African-based trade facilitation and market entry specialist) is hosting a specialized Export Training Program designed exclusively for California-based agricultural technology (agtech) exporters. This series spans twelve sessions and provides an in-depth, practical guide to navigating export opportunities in South Africa and broader African markets. Participants will engage with experts, government officials, and industry leaders across trade, legal, logistics, standards, and market access stakeholders.

Additionally, participating firms will receive one-on-one coaching from market specialists. Following the successful completion of the program, participants will also receive virtual bespoke meetings with interested, qualified South African-based firms. These have a direct interest in the specific California-based agtech solutions.

California AgTech Mission

The California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and North Valley Thrive invite you to join the California AgTech Mission, a curated tour of California’s Central Valley AgTech ecosystem, with a spotlight on Merced.

​This mission is designed for international AgTech companies interested in expanding into California – the largest producer and exporter of agricultural products in the United States.

​The two-day program connects participants with the resources and partners that international companies need to successfully enter the U.S. market, such engagement with growers, industry leaders, government officials, and researchers operating throughout one of the world’s most productive agricultural regions.

​Programming includes site visits, industry panels, and ecosystem briefings that highlight Merced’s role as a hub for AgTech commercialization. For example:

​Ecosystem briefings with Merced area and Central Valley stakeholders

​CA companies claimed over 1/3 of total US VC funding in AgTech in 2025 – join industry panels featuring AgTech companies that operating and growing in California

​Site visit to UC Merced’s Agricultural Experiment Station (Smart Farm)

​Tour of Merced College’s AgTech Innovation Center and workforce training facilities.

​Direct engagement with growers, producers, and applied research partners

​Registration details will be shared soon. Program elements, including transportation, accommodation, and select meals, are expected to be covered. Please stay tuned for additional information.

​Participation is limited. Applications will be evaluated based on merit and alignment with program objectives and will be selected and notified by February 27th.

ensuring access to clean water and sanitation—especially
