Panama Trip

2024 Panama Trip Banner

San Diego Diplomacy CounciI was invited by the San Diego Diplomacy Council to travel to Panama in April 2024 – which has one of the largest and most important man-made canals for worldwide commercial distribution and trade. Panama is a large emerging economy in Latin America, with the Panama Canal being an important point of entry for many distribution networks and economic markets. The Canal links the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean together, making it faster for ships to travel across the world.

On this trip, our delegation of 20 professionals were able to not only view the Canal and its operations, but also see everything Panama has to offer – from Casco Viejo, a UNESCO world heritage site, receiving government briefings, exploring Panama City, to Gamboa Town and the rainforest.

For over 40 years, the Council has connected world leaders with San Diego and California counterparts to build trust, dialogue, collaboration and innovation across all sectors.

Global TiesThe Council is a part of the U.S. State Department’s Global Ties U.S program, which supports a network of 90 plus community-based nonprofit organizations that represent all 50 states.

CLE AbroadThe trip was organized by CLE Abroad – A Division of Travel de Novo, LLC , based in Carlsbad which is a provider of customized educational travel programs around the world.
