Monica Lal is president and CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, where she is responsible for implementing and monitoring strategic initiatives and policies.
Prior to joining the Monterey Peninsula Chamber in 2019, Lal worked in the hospitality and tourism industry as a chef throughout the world.
She serves on the California Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as the National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Committee; Leadership Monterey County Board; Monterey Bay Defense Alliance; Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) Oversight Committee; Monterey County Business Alliance; Coalition of Monterey Business Associations; First 5 of Monterey County (commissioner 2024–2026); and Children’s Council of Monterey County.
Lal holds a bachelor of arts in history from Reed College.
