Janet W. Lamkin is senior vice president of global market and community innovation at United Airlines. She was named to this position in November 2020 after serving as California president since 2017.
Prior to this role, Lamkin served as the California state president for Bank of America. She was responsible for growing the business and strategically positioning the bank in California, including developing and maintaining relationships within the corporate, government and grassroots sectors. She spent 20 years with Bank of America, serving in a variety of senior management positions.
Lamkin has served on the California Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since July 2007. She also serves on the University of California San Francisco Hospital Executive Committee.
She is a former CEO of the California Bankers Association and was a past chair of the Bay Area Council. The San Francisco Business Times has recognized Lamkin as one of the 100 Most Influential Businesswomen in the Bay Area for eight consecutive years, and in 2023 and 2024 recognized her in the Power 100–Bay Area’s Most Influential Business Leaders.
Lamkin holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Westmont College and a master’s degree in international relations from the Australian National University.
