Cal/OSHA Reminds Employers to Protect Employees from Extreme Heat

With weather forecasts projecting temperatures to rise to as high as 113 degrees Fahrenheit this week, Cal/OSHA is reminding employers to protect workers from heat illness.

The news advisory from the California Department of Industrial Relations, the agency of which Cal/OSHA is a part, includes information for employers, such as the recaps of the symptoms of heat illness, plus links to:

• The Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Guidance and Resources page. On that page is a chart comparing the indoor and outdoor heat illness prevention standards.
• The Indoor Heat Illness Prevention regulation.
• A Heat Illness Prevention eTool for Outloor Workplaces.
