AB 1543 (Alejo): Public Contracts: Buy American The California Buy American Act requires that a governing body, when purchasing materials for public use, to only let those contracts to a person who agrees to use or supply materials produced or manufactured in the United States, as prescribed.
AB 2012 (Perez) : Economic Development This bill requires that the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development serve as the state agency primarily responsible for international trade and investment activities in the state, and, in that capacity, authorize that agency to carry out the powers and duties described above.
AB 2113 (Hueso) : Vehicles': Enhanced Drivers' Licenes This bill would authorize the Department of Motor Vehicles to enter into a memorandum of understanding with a federal agency for the purposes of facilitating travels within the western hemisphere pursuant to the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative through the issuance of an enhanced driver's license , instruction permit, provisional license, or identification card .
AB 2217 (Pan) : Call Centers: Relocation This bill would require an employer, as defined, to inform the Department of Industrial Relations of relocations of call centers within 30 days after a relocation occurs. The department would be required to post on its Internet Web site a list of employers that have relocated one or more call centers in the preceding year and the location to which each call center was relocated.
SB 1465 (Yee) : CA Agriculture & Renewable Energy Export Loan Guarantee Financing Program This bill would create the California Agriculture and Renewable Energy Export Loan Guarantee Financing Program, to be implemented by the California Pollution Control Financing Authority , to provide small businesses, as defined, with financial and technical assistance on export opportunities and techniques, as specified . This bill would also create the Export Financing Advisory Board, consisting of 11 members appointed by the Legislature, the Governor, and specified state officials, to advise the authority on trends and opportunities in export financing.
SJR 16 (Vargas) : Calexico West Port of Entry This measure would state that the Legislature declares its support for a private-public partnership to renovate and expand the Calexico West Port of Entry. This measure would also urge Congress to enact guiding legislation to authorize private-public partnerships such as the one proposed for the expansion of the Calexico West Port of Entry.
