House vote on US-Peru FTA expected this week!!!
The Peru Deal Advances
The case for U.S.-Peru free trade remains strong. Affecting $8.8 billion worth of goods and services annually, the deal would benefit a pro-American government in Latin America and open a market to U.S. producers of everything from financial services to grain. Washington Post, November 2, 2007

China Bars Exports by 750 Toy Makers
Chinese regulators said Thursday that they had suspended the export licenses of more than 700 toy companies because of quality control problems, according to the state-controlled media. The government also said that another 690 toy factories in southern China were ordered to improve their facilities or face similar punishment. International Herald Tribune, November 2, 2007
