Value of California merchandise exports rises
The value of California merchandise exports rose a healthy 13.7 percent in February compared with the same month in 2009, according to figures released today. Sacramento Bee, April 13, 2010
Imports Widen U.S. Trade Deficit in February
A jump in imports of consumer goods and other products widened the U.S. trade gap in February to $39.7 billion, but the closely watched bilateral deficit with China was its lowest in nearly a year, a government report showed on Tuesday. Reuters, April 13, 2010
The U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement has brought significant benefits to both nations since its implementation. Jordan's exports to the United States increased from $228 million in 2001 to $924 million in 2009. U.S. exports to Jordan grew from $343 million in 2001 to $1.2 billion in 2009.

Human Trafficking Mandates that “every retail seller and manufacturer doing business in this state” develop, maintain, and implement a policy addressing the eradication of slavery and human trafficking from their supply chain. The bill inappropriately makes California employers responsible for the actions of businesses with which they have no contractual relationship, are located in other countries, and could be engaged in activities that may best be handled on a diplomatic level.
